I never really liked to fish a Carolina rig enough to learn to fish it well.Dont care for all that floppy leader.
Last Saturday I was talking to a nice guy I ran across while I was out early fishing, he was using a Carolina rig and caught one in water I had just fished.
Sunday morning I rigged one up and got a 3 pounder, a 2 1/2 pounder, another keeper, two others got off and I missed several.Looks as if I may force myself to like it.
Gonna have to go to a longer rod to get better hooksets.
Good fishin to you all!

I never go without throwing one 85% of the time. I have took friends out and cought 50 or so fish a day MANY MANY times. I never get skunked using the rig. It does take a long heavy action rod. Use heave line, no less than 14lb and use a 10 to12 lb leader and a small worm hook. You want the weight to dig in and the worm to stay suspended. Good luck my friend..Ga. Steve
