Took my Sea Ray to a poor quality shop last summer to have an auto bilge switch put in as we leave it in the water over the summer. Seemed to work fine all summer, but this winter, while it was trailered and when I reconnected the battery to lower the foot for storage, the bilge pump turned on a few times...no water in hull. almost seemed to be on a timer. After inspection, noticed that, although i requested a float switch, none had been installed. Is there another type of "auto" bilge switch, or did they change my pump out ot a pump with built in float? any suggestions appreciated!
