MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) — Gov. Bob Riley is to
sign an executive order that will designate Lake Martin as a "Treasured
Alabama Lake."
Riley has scheduled a news conference for 10:30
a.m. Tuesday to make Lake Martin the first lake in the state to receive
the special designation.
Riley will sign the order in a ceremony at the lighthouse at Children's Harbor on Lake Martin at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday.
Riley said the "Treasured Alabama Lake"
designation will be awarded to lakes that meet quality standards for
cleanliness and nutrient enrichment.
