If you are leaning to Dish, you might want to consider pole mounting the dish out near the mater's away from the trees altogether. Can't be that expensive to do a shallow trench from there to the house. We have had Dish for years without many interruptions. A big thunderhead coming at us out of the SW will knock it down for a couple of minutes only. We have a single receiver that operates 2 TV's in different rooms at once. Not bad at all. About $70 a month. Now generators I know a lot about. Don't have 1 at lake, but in B'ham yes, after being out of power for 5 days, I got one (Ivan). Generac 15Kw, wired into breaker box, auto on/off. Carries all 120VAC breakers in a 3000 SqFt home, no problem. $5000 installed. No 220VDC wired, not enough capacity. But, the fridge, microwave, all lights, freezer, coffee pot,, etc stays on!! Runs on natural gas, but accepts LP. Good luck looking.
