I wanted to share my recent experience with Florida Outboard Motors; ioutboardmotors.com with all who are looking for light-weight quality outboards. I purchased their 3.5 hp two stroke outboard and was sent a cheap clone engine instead of the Bridgestone/Mitsubishi that their specs specify. This is crazy since on their homepage they elaborate how their Japanese-made Bridgestone motors are far superior to clones. I couldn't believe it! When I contacted them and asked about the clone they sent me, they refused to give me any specs on the clone (model no, serial no, country of origin), and so I have no idea what I got, since the clone I received has zero identifying info on it (typical of a clone engine). They then refused to provide me with pre-paid return authorization - I'll be darned if I am going to pay to return an item that I did not order - a clone! Terrible customer service - they insisted that they sent me what I ordered - FALSE, and that the specs are clearly visible on the clone I received, again - FALSE. Stay away from this company, unless you want a clone motor! I'd be happy to provide you with more info if desired.
