Steve was already missed when he closed the Lake Martin shop but nothing compares to this news. He was a fine, fine man with a wonderful family. His passing is a stark reminder to be thankful for our health, each and every day. I have so many fond memories of Steve involving going too fast in a boat as well as a hilarious story about his lack of handgun accuracy. Dee Dee, Madison and Steve, Jr. are in my prayers as they will need a ton of them in this terrible time.
Reminds me of something a wise priest told us during a retreat. Most people go through life thinking they are walking on solid ground headed toward a cliff at the end of their earthly journey. In reality, every day we are actually walking along the edge of that cliff and all it takes is a little push and it's all over. Steve lived life to its fullest and in my thinking he reached the cliff far too soon but I trust in divine providence even when I don't understand or like it. God bless ya Steve.
