Hey people this is not a joke. It is a real issue. The lake watch organization discussed the topic in their last newsletter. I will try and link the page with the information to this post. The lake watch website is www.lakewatch.org. The Oct. 22, 2004, newsletter #33, talks about the tree salvage project. It says the private company wants to exhume heart pine, a desireable lumber for building homes, from the bottom of the lake. This newsletter also discusses a substance plume in the pineywoods area that many of you might be interested in reading. This is a reputable organization. They have a link off of the Lake Martin.com website. Just click on the community tab at the top of the page then go to clubs/organizations then click on Lake Watch of Lake Martin or just click on the link to read the newsletter article. I also spoke with local officials who were in touch with the marine police and they also acknowledged the presence of the survey team on Lake Martin.
