The week after the 4th is normally pretty quiet. We usually take our vacation the week after the 4th and there are times during the week when it is like we have the lake to ourselves.

some places might be more crowded than others, but our area is like heaven on earth - I can hardly wait.

I will say that normally on the 4th and (since the 4th falls on Friday), Saturday and Sunday will be a zoo - so we stay close to home and do not venture out too far - but the following week tends to really make up for it.
