Glad to hear he is doing ok. I witnesses the accident. He was going out toward open water and either did not see the dock or accidently turned the wheel. He was doing about 15 to 20 and slammed into the dock. It tore off the front seat, tore off the trolling moter, tore off the windshield, smashed the gages, He hit his face straight on the dock. The boat came out the other side. I was skiing my wife and killed the boat then dove into the water and got into his boat. He was bleeding from the mouth and nose and was in terrible pain. He was able to tell me where he lived and I drove him back to his house. His wife was outside drinking coffee and I started yelling for her to get the keys. I offered to drive them but she said she could do it and they loaded into the truck and left. The boat had splintered wood all over it. I spoke to his wife later and she said that it was only the second time he had put that new boat in the water but he had been fishing the area for 50 years. Those new boats have tight steering and he may have headed toward the open water then leaned over to get something and turned too much. He was shocked that he hit the dock. As bad as it was he's lucky to be alive.
