Wes let me know that the stripers had moved out of Blue Creek so I decided to hunt for them on "my" end of the lake since it was such great weather. I left Kowaliga Marina and pointed it toward Parker Creek with downriggers at 35' and 40' plus two planer boards with Rebel crank baits running approx. 18' deep.
I cruised the main channel and marked lots of suspended fish in Kowaliga. No marks that I could clearly distinguish as likely to be stripers though. Once I turned the corner at Veazy's and headed toward Parker Pond, the screen just went blank. There were no marks, not even bait.
After about four hours I had four large spots (2 pounds or better) for supper, a couple of white bass to throw back and a sun burn. Struck out on stripes, but it was sure fun.
P.S. Lots of smoke over Willow Point. What the heck are they burning back there?
