My son and I were staying out at the Lake last week near Sandy Creek. One afternoon we took a couple of hours and visited HorseShoe Bend National Military Park. While there we watched a 20 minute movie about the battle between General Andrew Jackson and the Creek Indians. Later that afternoon we were fishing in a cove off of Sandy Creek and noticed something floating in the water...it turned out to be a 20 dollar bill floating face up with none other then President Andrew Jackson's face looking up at us. When I mentioned it to my son that it was the same person that we learned about he needless to say got the eebee jeebees. 2 seconds before we noticed the floating 20, my son had thrown out a rattle-trap lure and had set down the rod to scoop up the 20. After marveling at his new riches he returned to pick up his rod and believe it or not had hooked a 3 1/2 pound spotted bass. It was the largest bass he had ever caught. That 5 minutes made our entire week long trip priceless. When we left the lake we stopped at Jim's Bait shop so my son could spend his twenty. Next time your're in his store ask him about the story...my son told it to him 15,000 times because it took him 3 hours to buy two lures and a couple bags of worms (20 bucks doesn't go very far). Anyway...it's a nice bait/tackle store, good pizza, and thanks-Jim for listening.
