Greetings to all you bass enthusiasts. In an ongoing effort to trap my greatest foe I have decided to change the annual "Bass Hunt" that my two boys and I have had every summer since June/2000. This year we will be making our annual trek to Lake Martin April 3-8. This should be the right move at the right time in order for me to fulfill what has become an obsession of monumental proportion. As anyone who keeps up to date with this forum over the past 7 years well knows my boys and I have to date been handed one goose egg after another in our quest to catch and remove from the Lake that allmighty and all haunting of fish, the ever elusive "Bass". Laugh and snicker if you will but we are soon to return and as always our optimism is higher then ever. My boys are now 13 (he will be 14 when we make our journey) and 10. They have endured what no young fishermen should have to endure over the past seven years. Listening to their father rant and rave about our future exploits on the lake and how many bass we will catch each and every year that we visit. However, to their credit they have not given up on their humilitated and downtroddened Dad. Last year when my youngest boy put his hand on my shoulder as I sat with my head down, feet on the edge of the shore sobbing like a baby, he said "don't worry Dad we will get them next year." That was all the encouragement I needed. Well, WE'RE BACK" or will be in less then two months. So, once again I call on all those fisherman of the past who have given me countless suggestions and tips to reach into their hearts one more time (who am I kidding this could go on for decades) and help a hopeful fisherman and his boys with any advise for this new time of year on what might work to catch what has become my nightmare of all nightmares, the ever elusive and taunting BASS. I trust none of you have given up on us just yet. Thanks for listening.
