OK Jared, OPPS, there I go again... Sorry waterph, so you did post those names I was talking about... Funny thing, it used to be available even to non-members... Wonder why they stopped that access? Seems to me I see some key names in your posting, which are in fact developers. Matter of fact, not mentioning any names, some of them have a HUGE stake in the level of Smith Lake; NOT because they care of the quality and cleanliness of the lake, BUT because they still own several thousand feet of "SEASONAL WATER FRONT LAND"
By the way, you're totally INCORRECT, the question the locals and land owners should be asking, is how would raising the lake levels affect the cleanliness of the lake, when all that additional seasonal land becomes year round, and is sold to builders that continually try and fill every square foot of the property with HIGH DENSITY (Read Condo's) housing? Additional boat traffic, additional trash thrown into the water, additional topsoil erroding and flowing into the water from massive tree clearing.
You are correct about one issue: Raising the lake levels will bring about change, howver, I don't feel they're positive changes.
