Hello Smith Lake Folk,
First post. Have had a camp on the lake for 2 yrs. and will be building to retire from MS. gulf coast in a couple years. Hope to dodge the hurricanes till then. My question is: Are houseboats not permitted on Smith Lake? Don't recall seeing any and some neighbors have said they don't think they are allowed anymore. Is that the case? Any other boat restrictions?
We are glad to be a part of the community and love this lake and area. Grew up in Decatur, AL. and have traveled all of the U.S. east coast with the Navy and gov. studying the oceans for my livelihood. I've seen many great places on the water, but only very few that could stack up to this area for it's beauty, cleanliness, and recreation value. This is a Fine place to be!
