Game of chicken Archie, played by a sophisticated administration. They see the loss in US innovation as exemplified by the downturn in patents and R & D budgets as a significant drag on the US economy. All you free traders have some blame to share. Trump is all about the economy as witnessed by todays unemployment stats. I hope these tariffs don't last for a long period of time, but it will be interesting to see who blinks first.
