"a trial in the senate will allow of introduction and /or evidence that reveals matters related to election interference during the 2016 campaign, especially to Ukraine."
I'm pretty sure #45's defense attorney can introduce any evidence (s)he sees fit in a Senate trial. However, evidence unrelated to the actual charges - which, I assure you, will have nothing to do with imaginary "interference" by Ukraine in the 2016 election - will serve no purpose, as it will be the guilt or innocence of #45, and no one else, that is to be determined. In case this is not sinking in, "whataboutism" won't work in the real world.
