Birx was very level headed in the initial stages of the pandemic, as there was little information about the behaviour of the virus to go on. Many found that valuable, including me. Now that there are many clinicians and scientists with real world experience with this virus, their opinions may differ from Birx and Fauci. If Birx and Fauci are uncomfortable with this, they can certainly resign from the task force if they wish. It still is still a fact that NY has 3 times the death rate of Sweden, who really did not go to great efforts to mitigate. And Manhattan is a ghost of what it was........
