Prices remain high because you and I continue to buy the products. Manufacturers realize that the new price point increases profit, stock prices, and bonuses. This is a market driven economy and they can raise prices until sales fall and profits decline....elasticity of demand. I am convinced if there was a nationwide boycott of a product, the price for that product would quickly fall.
