The public option is clearly dead, as it should be. He was just giving it lip service to satisfy the so far left they are kissing the butt of the right, that think it should all be government run socialized medicine.

As for your other points, Obama is extremely narcissistic. He is very self absorbed and unaware. I honestly do not think he intends to lie ... but it comes naturally with someone with that personality disorder. In his eyes, it is all about me, me, me.
