i agree with you that this site is dead...i grew up on lake martin but have since moved away b/c of work...i like to check to see what is going on in the fishing world on the lake......i love to fish and when i come back to town i like to know what is biting...when..where etc.....some tips i have learned....most fishermen are very secretive about fishing(i am one of them)....start hanging out at your local bait and tackle shops and ask a lot of questions....there will always be one person that likes to help.....crappie this time of the year should really start biting.. shiners, jigs1/16-1/32oz(try different colors) around fallen trees and brush piles..try to locate creek channels...catfish.. channel and yellowcats/flatheads can be caught on cut bait, shiners, and large branch minnows. for the flatheads again find creek channels/ where a branch might be feeding into the lake.you will often catch catfish around brush piles when fishing for crappie...besides crappie flatheads are the best eating fish that comes out of lake martin...most of the white bass and stripers will start moving back in the creeks up the main river....rooster tails(silver and white) bucktail jigs and crankbaits usually work well..spottail minnows are one of the main food sources for fish on lake martin so anything that mimmicks them should help you catch fish....other than that you just have to get out there and fish....fishing changes day to day...time and experience is the best tool you will have wet a hook for me.....good luck!!
