At the time you will be able to get your boat out, the lake level and temp will both be up. The crappie will be in shallow (3-5 ft) getting ready to spawn. At this time small minnows and jigs work best.If you have access to boat now is a good time to scout out areas to fish this spring. In the area of lake you plan to fish look for brush piles, standing timber or christmas trees that have been placed around docks to draw fish in.I take pics this time of year for referance . After the spawn the crappie move out to deeper water. This is a good time to nite fish ,be ware of boat traffic. Went yesterday and caught 19 on minnows over brush at 12-20 feet. Hope this may be of some help and leave a few for me.
