Interesting article.

The number of arguments on all sides are endless.

My opinion would be that whoever owns the land the water now encompasses would be the owner of the lake or river.

Then again, there is the main river channel which was there before land ownership became an issue. So would it be correct to say the person who bought the land along the original river owns all except the original channel? Or, Does the State own the main channel but APCO owns the rest of the lake?

One thing is certain, none of us would have any questions pertaining to any lakes on the Coosa if the dams had not been built. The lakes we enjoy wouldn't exist.

I appreciate you posting the link to the article, made for some good early morning reading.
