Someone on Tap Road is having their dock coated with-- something -- and the result for the rest of the slough in an oil slick that extends from the power lines to the back of the slough. Parts of the shoreline are covered with a white gooey substance, as are any swimming birds in the area (three ducks in particular.) It's going to get on dock pilings, anything floating, etc. so if you have anything in the water that you don't want to get coated, you'd better fet it out now. (Though honestly, it's probably too late.)
HOBOs, LakeWatch... anything that can be done about this? For the future for sure, but maybe now, in regards to clean-up? (Especially the ducks; coating their feathers with a gooey substance can't be good, and if they ingest any of this stuff...)
I'll post photos later...
