Books with various plans are a good begining, but don't order your plan from the book itself. Take it to an archietect, show him the plan and make your changes. This is done everyday. I have found that no plan will ever be "exactly" what you're looking for, nor will the house you build. You will always find something "you wish you had done" or "something you should have done differantly" when building. As far as books,....most are pulished in the Northern States, therefore they will have things drawn up on the plans that do not apply for this area. If you have a general idea of what you "think" you might want to build, squarefootage, number of bedrooms/bathrooms, 1 or 2 story, etc. then most any archietect can help you with the rest. Ask around the Atlanta area, surely there is someone closer to you that can draw up your plans. You will make many trips back and forth before the final plans are drawn. THEN find a good builder in the Lake Martin area who won't take you for a ride! Good luck!
