Wow. This really chaps me in all the wrong places.

NO, you shouldn’t have to foul the nature of your property by posting NO TRESSPASSING signs or a BEWARE OF SNAKES sign.

It should be made verbally clear, in a very nice way, that because of liability reasons you must insist that the kids use your property only with your permission AND presence. You should document this conversation.

I am 100% for good neighbors and good relations, but if they are as self-centered as you witness them to be – they will not hesitate for a minute to sue you if something happens to one of their children while on your property.

Again, be very nice in explaining this and don’t take anything but total acquiescence as a reply. They shouldn’t get two lots for the price of one - and it sounds as if they have no respect for your property. You are not being a curmudgeon, you are simply being smart, protecting a life-long investment, and treating children like children.
