Here's what I know:
"The MagicJack sells for between $29.95-$39.95, and then there's an annual license fee of $19.95 for unlimited calls in the U.S., Canada and portions of Europe."
So, saying "never pay for phone calls again" is a little misleading, since you're paying $19.95 per year. Still, a good deal.
Or is it? After all, how many times have you heard of someone having to pay for LOCAL calls in the first place? And how do you RECEIVE phone calls? To do that, you need a phone number, and to be assigned a phone number, you must pay for phone service.
There is a lot more research that needs to be done before I can say whether or not this is a good deal. My initial reaction is this: it might be a good deal for someone who makes a lot of expensive long distance calls, and someone who travels a lot would probably get the most benefit. But for your average phone user, it's probably not the sweet deal they make it out to be.
For your average cell phone user, it could be a good thing, too... but most cell phone companies offer plans that probably compare favorably with $39.95 plus $19.95 per month.
