Thanks to those on the forum who provided information about FEMA and surveying for elevation. After the elevation survey was completed and other paperwork required by FEMA, FEMA issued a revision that stated that my dwelling was not in the flood plan.

Consequently, my flood insurance requirement was dropped.

With FEMA, you must "dot every i" and "cross every t".
