Imagine that you are on a team of ten playing tug-of-war against an opposing team of ten. Suddenly, one of their team members lets go. Your team reels backwards.

I was taught, a long time ago in structural geology, that an earthquake was a release of stress (strain) along a fault. When that stress along one area is relieved, the stress in adjacent areas is increased.

The Pacific plate is bordered by the “ring of fire” and plate boundaries under great rotational and subduction stress. Enormous stresses have been relieved in Chile and in Baja California.

Is there any chance that we could get more Democrats to move to the Left Coast… to be closer to Nancy Pelosi?
