Curious what people think about Obama's response to the gulf oil situation?

1. For over 2 months he has not contacted BP oil CEO or anyone there to work together or even discuss how the government can work together.

2. He goes on a morning prime time show (when children can be watching with their parents) and says he is too busy trying to find out whose a** to kick. Nice! That accomplishes a lot.

3. Busy trying to make political hay by making speaches that he will make BP pay no matter what ... when BP has NEVER said they would not and have taken responsibility for all costs.

4. Trying to tell BP they should not pay a dividend (British company) ... they and their board is responsible for evaluating liabilities, reserves, cash flow, etc as to if a dividend can be declared.

5. By not talking and working with BP, allowing them to make all decisions on how to close or contain the well ... so he has someone to blame?

6. Two weeks before the disaster pledges to expand off shore drilling, not wants a to close all 37,000 wells and put many people out of work.

7. Wants to greatly increase amount of money a company has to pledge up front for any oil drilling which is beyond what small businesses can come up with, so makes all drilling with the big oil guys.

8. Not stepping in and protecting our coast lines no matter what it takes and telling BP we will send you the bill. Instead he has also put that on BP. He may not be able to stop the oil, but it is our coats lines and it should be our governments responsibility to protect no matter what ... who pays should be after the fact decision.

While Obama may not be able to stop the oil ... it sure seems he should have from day one been taking to the CEO and working hand in hand to get all available talent, including other oil company experts in to assist. Beyond that, he should have taken control of protecting the coast lines and not going on TV talking about kicking a**, then complaining BP is not doing enough.

Show some leadership Mr President with action and not speaches.
