70% of our GDP is consumer spending.

40% of all consumer spending is from people that make over $200,000

So if we are trying to increase consumer spending to help create jobs, and you increase taxes on people that generate 40% of all consumer spending .... will that help or hurt the economy.

I firmly believe Obama does not want the economy to improve, in fact wants it to fail.  He can not be this stupid ... his spending is overwhelming the economy, it is not working, he wants to raise taxes, bigger government and more spending.  He really wants total government control.

His writings reflect this, his background reflects this, the people he associated with reflect this, people he has appointed and nominated reflect this.

It is classic Cloward-Piven tactics.
