Chile's recovery efforts for the 33 miners were successful because:
- Chile's President utilized resources and technology from at least 12 different countries.
- Experts from Chile's Mining Industry were in charge.
- Multiple plans were formulated.
- The total country was behind the efforts
So, what can this country learn from Chile if we ever have another disaster similar to BP. It's obvious.
- Get the politician out of the room.
- Have a President who is competent.
- Use available resources, internal and external
- Planning by experts
- Blaming others is not the solution.
- It's OK to fly the flag.
