I believe a private citizen has the right to live as they wish provided it does not harm others. But to be an elected official I'd like to think the person I support has an overall good moral compass. A person demonstrates morality through their actions; not just by stating what they profess to believe. And in this regard the person's actions in their private life can provide some indication of how they will likely perform publicly. I can't readily separate the private actions from the public actions. Many obviously can as evidenced by the staunch Bill Clinton supporters that were oblivious to his philandering. The S.C. primary will be interesting.
