Al Franken graduated from Harvard University. He recently served as a fellow at the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard.

He has been nominated for seven Emmy awards and won three for writing and producing.

He has written 5 books that made the NYT best seller list, three of them going to #1.

He has been politically active since the 60's and was close friends with highly regarded Paul Wellstone, Senator from MN..

He has done seven USO tours.

I'm not saying he will be the best Senator we've ever had. I'm just saying we don't have to be embarassed to have him in the Senate.

I think your problem is more with his very liberal views - not really that he isn't qualified.
