I want to revisit your point that ONLY losing 530,000 jobs is a step in the right direction.

I will grant you that it is better than losing more. One american that loses their job, or is out of work a day more than they want, just because of bad policies and the government focused on the wrong things (or their agenda) rather than doing everything possible to get people back to work is a crying shame.

Their are proven methods to jump start an economy in recession and get people back to work This is not the first recession this country has had. The difference is this administration has an agenda of bigger government and more government control and does not want to provide the incentives to free enterprise to create jobs.

When unemployment reaches close to 10% and will probably peak at between 12% and 14% .... sooner or later the job losses start to slow and year over year comparisions start looking better.

That does not mean that the policies are the right ones as you seem to be saying. It is simply that an economy the size of the US eventually pulls itself out of recession.

They question, I and many other have is if we could have started creating jobs sooner and not put so many people and businesses through the pain of losing their job and businesses closing their doors.

I honestly believe that the policies of Obama have caused the recession to last longer and be deeper, simply because he has an agenda. He knows tax cuts and incentives to businesses are less costly to tax payers and have nearly an immediate impact on the economy. He choose not to do that simply because that would not align with his socialist views of bigger government and more control. He wants more people dependent on the government so he forces (or allows) the job losses and business closings so more and more people start turning to the government for survival.

I hope you can not say that the wasteful stimulus package is having a positive impact. Keep in mind that the $800 billion that is being spent was only suppose to save or create (we know we do not have any new jobs created) 3 million jobs. Do the math that is about $250,000 per job I guess "saved".

Can you honestly say that is money well spent vs putting money back in the pockets of americans and/or businesses that would have been much more costly and immediate in its benefit vs the government deciding how to spend it wastefully.

So eventually we will stop losing jobs and I will think that is great for america and the people. But unless you or others can somehow convince me that that wasteful spending on stimulus is what is causing the change after the longest recession since the depression ... you will not see me or many other clear thinking americans giving Obama any credit for the eventual turn around. Not when other countries, like Canada are already having net positive job growth with far less spending and incentives directed at free enterprise to create jobs.
