Of course they have a right to monetize their investment; however, one would like to think that there are going to be quiet spots on the lake to just enjoy the surroundings and the peace. More homes means more boat traffic, more potential rentals (I have been astounded at the actual number of properties that are short term rentals). More people wanting to light up their dock, play loud music, and throw their trash around. We have a vacant lot next to us that is owned by Alabama Power and I am contemplating calling AP to see if they plan to sell it and to see if I could buy it - not to build on, but just keep natural. Its a very steep lot.
