Your catch of two fish on one cast brings back fond memories to a 12-13 year old boy who at the time lived in Town Creek, Alabama and fished from the bank in the swift water at Wheeler Dam on the Tennessee River. I caught three stripes(hybrids were not around at that time) on one cast. I used a no-name rod and a Pfluger Skilcast reel. The rig was a top-water lure with treble hooks trailed by two white jigs. I caught one fish on the top-water lure and two on the jigs. The jigs were made by my Dad and me using a lead mold and white bristles from an old nylon brush. The top-water lure was red and white and was hand carved by my Dad. Red fingernail polish was used for the red paint. It's hard to believe this all happened over 63 years ago. Again, "fond memories".
