THIS IS A “JUST FOR FUN” BENEFIT TOURNAMENT: Thanks for your interest and support! The

purposes of this event is to benefit Project Healing Waters Fly Fishing, raise awareness of the recreational

opportunities on the Tallapoosa, highlight the beauty of the Tallapoosa River and its bass species, meet new

friends, and have fun fishing. While there will be prizes awarded, this is not a professional fishing

tournament and therefore shouldn’t be treated as such.

2. HOW IT WORKS. Participants will float and fish from Horseshoe Bend to Jaybird Creek for black bass

species. All fish are caught, then photographed according to the rules and released immediately back to the

river. Participants provide the “total length” of their 3 best fish upon arrival at Jaybird. If the length qualifies

for a prize, participants must provide photos for verification. Photos must be taken according to guidelines

below. Prizes are awarded – but most importantly, everyone has a lot of fun!

3. WHO CAN COMPETE. Nine years of age or older. Minors under the age of 18 are subject to additional rules

detailed later.

4. HOW TO REGISTER. Participants must pre-register online. Online registration closes at 9am on the

Friday morning before the tournament. There is no limit on the size of the field, but registration may be

closed early if necessary materials (tokens, waivers, etc) become unavailable.

5. ENTRY FEES: All participants must pay an entry fee. This covers the cost of your t shirt, as well as prizes.

Entry fees are non-refundable.

6. CHECK IN/MORNING OF THE. Check in will take place from 6:00 am to 8:00 am the morning of the event.

Each competitor will check in by showing their photo ID, valid fishing license, and have measuring boards

approved. All entry fees are non-transferrable and non-refundable. Participants will be given a handout with

rules/reminders and tokens to be used in scoring photos.

7. SHUTTLE SERVICE: All participants must use the shuttle procedure to minimize logistical issues and

unforeseen circumstances. Shuttle procedure: Participants will arrive at Horseshoe Bend, check in, unload

boats/equipment, drive to Jaybird Creek Landing, leave vehicle, and ride the shuttle back to Horseshoe

Bend.
