I went down to straighten out the closet in the boathouse and lo and behold a copperhead (about 18 inches long) was on one of the shelves. A speedy thrust with a boat paddle and I was able to hold him down and dispatched him with a rubber mallet. First copperhead I have ever seen here. BE CAREFUL
