live bait is the best overall, thred fin shad is best but slaties will work. Best and most durable comination is a 7 or 7.5 ft ugle stick striper rod with an ambassador 6500C reel. I use 20 lb flouracarbon line, 3 oz sinker and 17 lb leader, #2/0 or 3/0 circle hook. You need good electronics and some experience to know what you are looking at on the screen.
