Maybe, but most politicians wouldn't stoop to claiming someone had dropped out of the race in order to get his votes, when it wasn't true.
I think most candidates underestimate how hard, if not impossible it will be to implement their promises. The President doesn't really have as much power as most candidate think (As Obama found out) and you've got to work with Congress and the states. That's why I like Trump - I think he has the wherewithall to work with various groups. My only concern is that he will become frustrated quickly with the glacial speed of Washington.
