Yeah I remember a similar picture, it was kind of like AOC and her crying at the immigration parking lot fence - different angle, whole different picture.

I think the prediction back then was that we would have none left by now, and if not extinct they were supposed to be well on their way, but that prediction was BS just like this photo is supposed to make you feel bad for Mr bear who was probably taking a break from mauling seals on that small iceburg.
