I think we should have more patrol on the lake this weekend.  (and weekends to come)  I understand that people want to see what happened up close.  What I don't understand is why people feel the need to get right in the middle of the devastation.  Yes, you may be able to guide your boat through all of the debris..you may be able to spot 2x4's from a mile away....but what about what's underneath the water?  What about the power lines?  What about all of the tie lines people had for the boats that are now sunken?  That's all said for the safety of the boaters...  but what about these people who are cleaning up their homes?  I was passing a slough today and there had to be 8 boats in a line assessing the damage.  Seriously, following the leader through a tiny slough filled with tree branches, base boards, pieces of piers, (and I even saw a few pillows floating) is ridiculous.  If not for your own safety, please respect the people who own what's floating around.  Obviously the Marine Police & Department of Conservation  & Natural Resources can't stop people from enjoying the lake but please respect what they ask us to do.  If you want to see what happened..that's fine...but there is no need to get up close and drive through hazardous areas.
