Wow! That is pretty interesting; you wouldn't catch me walking on one though. It would make sense that those could cause a discoloration in the water and if they are there for an extended period it would explain why it isn't going away. Having never seen one of those before, I would have no idea how many of them and how long they would have to be there to cause an issue in the water. Hopefully, you can get some feedback from an expert in the area. As for the Strip Mine Meeting, my neighbor is going and I have submitted the "protest post card" that was delivered to our house. Please join in and voice your opinion.
