Your thought process for no increase in water level with 6 inches of rainfall in a short time period fascinates me. Also, I had never thought of your theory of Aliens from outer space or ground so porous that there will be no runoff.when it rains. This theory of porous ground bothers me in that I could be out walking and suddenly disappear.

In years past when the lake would rise 3 feet after a heavy rain, I now know that the rainfall was not associated with the rise in lake level. I am now even more interested as to what caused the water level to rise. Have aliens been around Smith Lake and we never knew it?

But wait! I have some oceanfront property in the mountains of West Virginia that you might be interested in buying as a long term investment. This land is remote and you could invite your alien friends to visit without being observed by earthlings.

And, I don't like to work so why should I get a day job. I've grown lazy in my old age. I'm waiting for some Obama money to be sent in the mail.
