My son went to a gun show recently and left in disgust.  There was a significant number of shady-looking characters there, lined up to buy handguns.  As soon as they picked one out they turned around to their female partner and had the female fill out the paperwork for the background check. 

The background check might work if the true purchaser of the gun submits the request, but what my son witnessed was a gross mis-use that probably resulted in the gun ending up in the hands of someone who could never get approval on their own.
