I am so glad he turned up. They usually do thank God. Like you said,  just out for an evening stroll to him. Some folks believe it is counter-productive to go after them right right away because they may be just out of sight but when they hear you they feel at home and keep wandering away. A GPS tracker seems like smart money these days.
