I placed it on the side in front of the throttle. It could go about anywhere as long as you have some extra wire. It does require a hole (about 9/16ths) to secure the switch. I considered an under dash mount or fabricating a bracket but went with drilling the side panel after looking at various options. It looks like it was always there.
