conservatives are liberal and liberals are socialists or collectivists or big government types, at least in current parlance. You and the founding fathers have almost nothing in common in terms of the belief of the proper role, scope and intrusiveness of the federal government. The Federalist Papers are rife with a veritable multitude of examples of them abhorring almost everything you believe.

But having said all that, in their day they would have been described as liberal as would I have been and proudly so. That modern day liberalism has no resemblance says more about the current day adherents than it does anything about the Founding Fathers. But today those that continue to embrace the core beliefs of the Founders are called conservative. Just another fact GF.
