Scareware - used to be a similar one that used to go around screaching sirens at you and had a message that you could not close that Microsft detected a virus and gave you a phone number to call for them to fix it.  They would convince you that you had a virus because of a system file buried in the windows folder that had a icon of a teddy bear  - which was legit.
