But I'll answer because Goofy as usual only told half the story about abortion in the UK. While still technically illegal, abortions can take place in the first 24 weeks of pregnancy assuming one or more of these conditions are met: 1) cases of rape or incest, 2) there is a danger to the life of the mother, 3) the baby is not viable (will not survive), 4) the child is likely to have mental or physical abnormalities, or 5) the baby is dead.  They have to be approved by two doctors based on the above criteria and performed by a third and cannot be for sex selection.  Abortions after 24 weeks are allowed only if the woman's life is in danger or there is a severe fetal abnormality and the woman is at risk of grave physical and mental injury.  Sounds WAY more restrictive than in most states in the U.S.  Of course, the abortion industry thrives because there is no lack of doctors willing to say an abortion for convenience meets the above criteria....somehow.

Sadly, it is indeed covered under the NIH.
